Projects Manager

    The Propane Education & Research Council (PERC), a Washington D.C. based non-profit organization, has an excellent opportunity for a Projects Manager. This position, based in D.C., reports to the Chief Business Development Officer and works in collaboration with the business development and market outreach team to create and implement strategies that drive increased market demand in the residential and commercial markets. 

    This position is responsible for supporting market outreach and training projects with a focus on marketing and communications outreach.  The Project Manager serves as project leader for multiple projects comprised of cross-functional team members using a Stage Gate process. This position also participates as a team member on projects led by other project leaders. The Project Manager may utilize contractors, communications partners, technical developers, and consultants to support projects. The Project Manager reinforces PERC’s business perspective throughout the Propel process and coordinates with the Chief Business Development Officer and the Propel Process Manager to provide updates on project status, schedule appropriate project reviews, and provide input on team member performance evaluations. A key responsibility is to develop and implement strategies to engage marketers in launch plans for new products developed through PERC’s commercialization process. Responsibilities include:

    Project Planning, Management, and Leadership

    council bullet Identifies project deliverables, results, timelines, milestones, and resources (both financial and staffing).
    council bulletDetermines skill sets needed for project team(s). Works with functional and market managers, assembles team, including consultants and contractors as appropriate.
    council bulletCoordinates with the communications team on print, digital, website, public relations, and media planning outreach efforts.
    council bulletEstablishes systematic method for project tracking and measurement against schedules/commitments, delegates tasks and responsibilities and manages project expectations.
    council bulletRuns project meetings to measure success against plan and communicates changes and issues to team.
    council bulletManages budgets, including timely review of all billing and budget conformance.

    Business Support

    council bulletContributes to the growth of the project team through collaboration and sharing knowledge with other team members.
    council bulletWorks closely with Advisory Committee working group members to involve them in projects and encourages input and review of key results.
    council bulletMonitors market (Residential and Commercial) developments, and provides advice and suggestions if applicable.
    council bulletPartners effectively with other groups both inside and outside of PERC.

    Requirements

    council bulletA BS Degree or higher is required.
